Top officials in President Donald Trump’s administration revealed this week what they believe to be the top threat facing the homeland.

Top Trump administration officials told members of the Senate Intelligence Committee in a report that one of the biggest threats to U.S. national security is fentanyl and the international drug gangs that bring the deadly street drug into the country.

“Cartels were largely responsible for the deaths of more than 54,000 U.S. citizens from synthetic opioids” during the 12-month period that ended in October 2024, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard said during opening remarks.

Philippine police have shared a warning after a tourist hopped into a zoo’s crocodile enclosure to take a selfie.

On April 28, a tourist visited Kabug Mangrove Park and Wetlands zoo in Zamboanga Sibugay, Philippines and got even more of an up-close and in-person experience than he bargained for.

The 29-year-old is reported as having spotted what he allegedly believed was a statue of a crocodile and so decided to hop over a fence, wade through water and whip out his phone to take a selfie with it – only to realize very quickly and painfully, the reptile was certainly not a statue.

As crowds of other tourists shouted out to the man to get out, the croc saw its opportunity and pounced, snapping its jaw around the tourist’s arm and sinking its teeth into his flesh – and the 15ft-long reptile, named Lalay, didn’t just stop there either with the ordeal captured on camera too.

Police Staff Sergeant Joel Sajolga, of the Siay Municipal Police, told local media: “The tourist was walking around the area, then he saw the crocodile, which he thought was just a plastic fixture.

“He climbed the fence and entered the enclosure, and the crocodile attacked him.”

A video shows the croc sinking her teeth into the tourist’s arm before moving on to nab a bite of his thigh.

She then flipped him over, rotating him as humans do a rotisserie chicken, in a move better known when performed by a crocodile or alligator as a ‘death roll’.

The croc tried to death roll the tourist (ViralPress)

The University of Tennessee, Knoxville explains: “Contrary to popular belief, crocodiles can’t chew, so they use a powerful bite coupled with a full-bodied twisting motion – a death roll – to disable, kill, and dismember prey into smaller pieces.

“The lethal movement is characteristic of both alligators and crocodiles and has been featured in numerous movies and nature documentaries.”

The tourist is reported as having spent a staggering 30 minutes in the enclosure getting far too close for comfort with Lalay before one of the zoo’s animal handlers showed up.

It’s reported they hit the croc over the head using a piece of cement which led to her letting go of the tourist.

Miraculously, the tourist survived (ViralPress)

Despite spending half-an-hour in the jaws of the croc, the tourist has lived to tell the tale.

It’s reported he was whisked to hospital and received a whopping total of over 50 stitches for his wounds.

While onlookers were ‘glad the man is alive,’ others questioned ‘why he would do such a stupid thing’.

Sgt. Sajolga resolved by warning others against any sort of similar behavior when visiting a zoo.

He said: “This kind of behavior is very dangerous. Nobody should ever enter an animal’s enclosure at the zoo.

“He put other people’s lives at risk and he is very lucky to have survived.”

A heartbreaking footage that witnessed the unthinkable attack of Spanish orca trainer Alexis Martinez disturbed many.

The 28-year-old had been working with orcas at Loro Parque’s Orca Ocean in the Canary Islands.

Alexis Martinez was killed by the orca named Keto during a Christmas show rehearsal on December 24, 2009.

He tragically died two months before an orca attacked and killed Dawn Brancheau, a trainer of 14 years.

According to Martinez’ partner, Estefanía Luis Rodriguez, he showed concerns over the behaviour of the killer whales just weeks before the attack during which he lost his life. She said that according to him, the whales were becoming disobedient, disruptive, and aggressive.

Keto, which has never seen the ocean, is a 6,600lb male killer whale born in captivity in 1995 in a SeaWorld park. At the time of Martinez’ death, Keto was on loan to Loro Parque from SeaWorld.

The tragedy happened when Martinez tried to perform a stand-on spy hop where the trainer balanced on the killer whale as he rose out of the water.

But Keto leaned on one side, and according to another trainer, the orca seemed to have deliberately positioned himself between his trainer and the stage.

Martinez was instructed to slim slowly to another pool, while other trainers used controls that had always worked with killer whales, but Keto refused to obey. Instead, he used hi rostrum – the tip of his beak or snout – to push Martinez to the bottom where he violently played with his body.

After months of presidential tension, biting social media posts, and geopolitical chess, the United States and Ukraine have inked a groundbreaking minerals deal.

The agreement gives Washington a stake in Ukraine’s natural resources — ushering in a controversial but potentially transformative chapter in the war-battered country’s recovery amid the Russian invasion.

The newly signed deal establishes the United States-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund, a joint venture that will see both nations profit from the future development and sale of Ukraine’s vast energy and mineral reserves.

And, of course, it comes just months after President Trump boldly told President Zelensky that he was “gambling with World War Three” if he didn’t sign a deal.
t’s the clearest sign yet that Ukraine’s natural wealth — once overlooked — is now at the center of global power struggles, economic survival, and the long-term blueprint for peace.

Why This Deal Matters
The agreement provides the US with a tangible economic incentive to continue investing in Ukraine’s defence and reconstruction — while also addressing growing questions in Washington over how much support has already been poured into the conflict since Russia’s full-scale invasion in February 2022.

Ukraine is believed to hold around 5% of the world’s critical raw materials, including large deposits of lithium, graphite, and titanium — minerals essential for everything from electric vehicle batteries to wind turbines and military hardware.
But with many of these deposits lying untapped, Kyiv needed more than just global sympathy amid Russia’s invasion. It needed investment.

Now, it’s got it.

The Details — And the Dealmakers
US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent called the arrangement a “historic economic partnership,” declaring it a move that will help “unlock Ukraine’s growth assets.” In a video statement, Bessent emphasized that the agreement signals “clearly to Russia that the Trump Administration is committed to a peace process centered on a free, sovereign, and prosperous Ukraine over the long term.”

Amal Clooney was one of eight members of a panel designated by the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to evaluate arrest warrants for Hamas and key Israeli leaders.

Senior British attorneys who worked as consultants in the ICC’s case against Israel for its Gaza offensive have been forewarned by the British Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office that they may be subject to sanctions from the Trump administration.

A group of legal and academic specialists was gathered by ICC prosecutor Kharim Khan in January 2024 to examine his inquiry into the suspected crimes during the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.

The panel’s goal was to ascertain if the people included in the petitions for arrest warrants had committed crimes that fell under the purview of the ICC, such as crimes against humanity, war crimes, and genocide.

Among the professionals who counseled Khan was Clooney, a well-known British barrister with expertise in human rights and international law. Additionally, she teaches as an adjunct professor at New York City’s Columbia Law School.

Clooney co-founded the nonprofit Clooney Foundation for Justice, which offers victims of human rights violations free legal assistance. She has previously defended victims of widespread violence before the ICC and the International Court of Justice.

Matrix Chambers barrister Danny Friedman, Labor peer Baroness Helena Kennedy of the Shaws, former British judge Lord Justice Adrian Fulford, Judge Theodor Meron CMG, and Elizabeth Wilmshurst CMG KC joined her on the panel.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and Hamas leaders Yahya Sinwar, Mohammed Deif, and Ismail Haniyeh were among the five prominent Israeli and Hamas figures Khan named in his inquiry.

Following months of “an extensive process of review and analysis,” Clooney and her fellow panel members published a legal report and joint statement via the Financial Times on May 20, 2024, explaining why they “support the ICC’s prosecution for crimes in Israel and Gaza.”

In this statement, they declared that the panel had unanimously decided that Khan’s evidence was adequate to bring charges against the conflict’s leaders.

“The judges of the ICC will ultimately determine which warrants, if any, should be issued. And as investigations continue, we hope that state authorities, witnesses and survivors will engage with the judicial process,” they said.

The ICC issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant in November 2024 on allegations of crimes against humanity and war crimes. The three Hamas commanders were also charged, but they have already passed away.

Khan’s involvement in the ICC’s investigation against Israel led to President Donald Trump signing an executive order in February of this year that imposed sanctions on him, including the suspension of his entry into the United States and the banning of his assets and property.

The president also issued a 60-day deadline for internal recommendations from those who contributed to the case, warning that additional actions could be taken against them. The due date was April 7.

Many people expressed their annoyance on social media after learning that Clooney would not be allowed to enter the United States due to impending sanctions from the Trump administration.

“‘Even Disgraceful Says It’s Disgraceful!’” one person wrote“This is infuriating!!” another exclaimed“She would be heartbroken,” a fan sympathized. “Isn’t she married to an American citizen?” someone else asked.

Actor George Clooney is the spouse of the lawyer. Social media users had previously criticized her for not publicly discussing the dispute and advocating for its victims.

Following her joint statement with her panel, she released a personal address. “I served on this Panel because I believe in the rule of law and the need to protect civilian lives,” she wrote on the Clooney Foundation website.

Clooney underlined that regardless of the causes of the fight, all nations are subject to the laws safeguarding civilians in war, which have been in place for more than a century. She does not believe that the life of one kid is more or less valuable than the life of another, as a human rights attorney.

The mother of two said she does not accept that any conflict should be “beyond the reach of the law,” nor should any perpetrator be above it.

Since the arrest warrants have been issued, Netanyahu’s office dismissed the charges as “false and absurd.” It should also be noted that Israel, along with the US, is not among the countries that signed the international treaty that created the ICC and, therefore, does not accept the court’s jurisdiction.

The U.S. Supreme Court recently declined to hear challenges regarding state and local lawsuits targeting oil companies for climate change-related damages.

These lawsuits, filed by energy-producing states, oil companies, and industry groups, seek to compel oil companies to compensate for climate change impacts.

Critics argue the lawsuits push anti-fossil fuel policies and would lead to higher costs for consumers. Advocates, however, claim they are necessary to hold companies accountable for environmental harm.

The cases, which use state-level nuisance laws, could set a precedent for future lawsuits against other industries. Some worry that these lawsuits, backed by liberal advocacy groups, could result in policy changes through courts rather than legislation, potentially influencing future energy regulation.

Alina Habba, who served as one of President Donald Trump’s personal attorneys and is now his White House counselor, made a big revelation earlier this month regarding federal workers.

Habba, in an appearance on Fox News, said that anyone who works for the Executive Branch of the federal government who does not have an “America First” attitude will get the ax.

“Why would it be that deep state institutionalists, people that work for Jack Smith, that worked overtime night and day to put Donald Trump in jail, why wouldn’t Donald Trump get to pick his own people? Why would he be stuck with that group of people?” Fox News host Sean Hannity asked.

“I love that you asked me this question, Sean. You know what I would say to all the liberals freaking out? Yeah, no, here we go. Ready? If you’re Biden and I’m in the DOJ, are you leaving me there, Biden? I don’t think so,” the attorney said. “Look, the truth of the matter is this. You’re not America first. They were divisiveness. They were the party of attack. They were the party of politicization of the law, fair justice, and injustice.

Kamala Harris Delivers First Major Speech Since Leaving Office as Donald Trump Touts Revival in Primetime Interview

A Fiery Return to the Spotlight

In her first major public address since leaving office, former U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris delivered a passionate speech at the Emerge 20th Anniversary Gala in San Francisco. Her message, layered with urgency and hope, sharply contrasted the simultaneous media spotlight on President Donald Trump, who was conducting a nationally broadcast interview on ABC.

Harris’s remarks drew intense online reactions—some praising her powerful delivery, others questioning her tone and intent.

Harris Calls for Action Against “Calculated Chaos”

During the gala held on April 30, 2025, Harris framed the current U.S. political climate as a “pivotal turning point”, pointing to what she called a “man-made economic crisis” stemming from reckless tariffs and a disregard for constitutional norms.

“Fear is not the only thing that’s contagious. Courage is contagious,” she declared, igniting applause from the audience.

Harris expressed admiration for everyday Americans who have resisted unconstitutional actions, and called out policies she says have harmed families, businesses, and retirement savings. She then warned against mistaking national turbulence for chaos, suggesting instead that it reflects a strategic push behind the scenes.

“Please, let us not be duped into thinking everything is chaos. What we are witnessing is the rapid implementation of an agenda decades in the making,” Harris stated.

“A Constitutional Crisis Is Brewing”

The most sobering portion of her speech came as she addressed the weakening of democratic institutions.

“We are living in a moment when the checks and balances […] have begun to buckle,” she warned. “When they ultimately collapse, that is called a constitutional crisis.”

Harris urged Americans to remain vigilant and proactive, closing her address with a powerful call to reclaim the nation’s identity:

“It doesn’t belong to whoever is in the White House. It belongs to We, the People!”

Online Reactions: Praise, Emotion—and Pushback

Her remarks quickly trended online, where reactions were sharply divided.

Supporters praised her emotional honesty and conviction:

“She is the one we needed for our country and future,” one user commented.

“Incredible speech tonight! She covered everything!” another said.

“I cried. This was so powerful,” a viewer admitted.

But critics questioned both her delivery and message:

“She looks angry,” one user noted.

“She’s rambling. Is she OK?” another international viewer asked.

Others labeled her performance “fake” or overly rehearsed.

Earlier in 2025: A Different Tone at the NAACP Awards

Harris had previously taken the stage in February 2025 at the NAACP Image Awards, where she received the Chairman’s Award. That speech struck a more personal tone, focusing on resilience, unity, and the enduring power of organized communities.

“Refuse to surrender to cynicism and destruction,” she said, quoting W. E. B. Du Bois and urging the audience to “organize, mobilize.”

Trump Offers a Contrasting Vision in ABC Interview

On the same evening as Harris’s fiery speech, President Donald Trump delivered his own message—this time from the set of a primetime ABC interview recapping his first 100 days in office.

Framing his term as a resurgence of American strength, Trump pointed to his administration’s actions on border security, inflation control, and economic revival.

“The border is the most significant… Now, it’s totally closed down,” he asserted.

Trump also revisited his “America First” narrative, calling out what he described as media dishonesty and prior leadership failures. He claimed that falling energy prices, job market improvements, and tough deportation policies are evidence of a country making a comeback.

He even weighed in on international affairs, stating that the ongoing conflict in Ukraine “would’ve never happened” under his earlier administration.

Doug Emhoff Shares Personal News Amid Political Storm

Amid the political commentary, Doug Emhoff, Harris’s husband and former Second Gentleman, shared his own update via X (formerly Twitter). On April 29, Emhoff announced his removal from the United States Holocaust Memorial Council.

He voiced concern over what he described as the politicization of Holocaust remembrance, affirming his ongoing commitment to fighting antisemitism and hate.

A Divided Nation, Two Speeches, One Message: The Fight for America’s Future

While Kamala Harris delivered a call to resist authoritarian drift, Trump portrayed his administration as a force for national recovery. The contrast was striking—two influential voices offering competing visions for America’s future, each resonating deeply with their respective audiences.

As both leaders speak directly to the nation—one from a gala podium and the other from primetime TV—the political divide remains front and center, with public reactions as passionate and polarized as ever.

Pancreatic cancer is one of the most difficult cancers to detect early, as symptoms often don’t appear until the disease has progressed.

However, knowing the warning signs can help with early detection and improve treatment options. Here are some key symptoms to watch out for.

Keep reading to find out more about this cancer.

1. Persistent Abdominal or Back Pain

Pain in the upper abdomen or middle to lower back can be an early sign of pancreatic cancer. This discomfort is often dull and persistent, sometimes worsening after eating or when lying down.

2. Unexplained Weight Loss

Losing weight without trying can be a red flag for many health conditions, including pancreatic cancer. If you experience sudden and significant weight loss without changes to your diet or exercise routine, consult a doctor.

3. Jaundice (Yellowing of the Skin and Eyes)

A yellow tint to the skin and eyes occurs when the liver isn’t processing bile properly. Pancreatic cancer can block the bile ducts, leading to jaundice, Pancreatic Cancer Action details. If you notice this symptom along with dark urine or pale stools, seek medical attention immediately.

4. Changes in Stool and Urine

Light-colored or greasy stools that float in the toilet may indicate a problem with digestion, often caused by a blockage in the pancreas. Dark urine can also be a sign of bile duct obstruction.

5. Loss of Appetite and Digestive Issues

If you’re experiencing ongoing nausea, vomiting, bloating, or a sudden loss of appetite, these could be signs of pancreatic cancer affecting digestion, according to the Mayo Clinic. The pancreas plays a key role in breaking down food, and any disruptions can lead to discomfort.

6. New-Onset Diabetes

The pancreas helps regulate blood sugar levels. If a person without a history of diabetes suddenly develops the condition, especially with no clear risk factors, it could be a warning sign of pancreatic cancer.

7. Fatigue and Weakness

Feeling constantly tired or weak without an obvious cause could indicate your body is fighting a serious illness. If fatigue is persistent and accompanied by other symptoms, it’s important to investigate further.

8. Enlarged Gallbladder

A swollen gallbladder, often discovered during imaging tests for other conditions, can be linked to pancreatic cancer blocking bile flow. If you have unexplained bloating or tenderness in the upper right abdomen, talk to your doctor.

9. Itchy Skin

Bile buildup in the body due to a blocked bile duct can lead to persistent itching. If you experience unexplained itchiness along with jaundice, it may be a sign of a more serious issue.

10. Blood Clots

Pancreatic cancer can increase the risk of blood clots, sometimes leading to deep vein thrombosis (DVT). Swelling, redness, or pain in the legs could indicate a clot, requiring immediate medical attention.

When to See a Doctor

If you experience one or more of these symptoms, especially if they persist or worsen over time, it’s important to seek medical advice. While these signs don’t always indicate cancer, early detection can improve outcomes and provide more treatment options.

By staying informed and paying attention to your body, you can take proactive steps toward better health. If something doesn’t feel right, don’t hesitate to get checked.

Stephanie and Dan Dworksy were shocked when they laid eyes on their newborn son, Kacy, for the first time.

Kacy was born with melanocytic nevus, a skin disease that causes large black spots all over the body.

“They were just everywhere. Spots on his face, on his legs, his back is covered,” says mother Stephanie.

The disease affects 1 in 500 000 people and comes with an increased risk of skin cancer – but otherwise, the effects are purely cosmetic.

Stephanie lives with guilt every day because of her son’s spots.

“You know, you go through 10 months doing everything that you can dto have a perfect pregnancy and be healthy, and then you think you did something wrong,” she says.

Stephanie realizes that her son is different and their lives would be affected because of it. But the family is now seeking to raise awareness about their son’s rare disease.

Stephanie and Dan Dworksy were shocked when they laid eyes on their newborn baby, Kacy, for the first time.

Kacy Daniel was born on the 9th of June 2016 with melanocytic nevus, a skin disease that causes large black spots all over the body.  He had a Giant Arm Nevus on his left arm and “satellites” all over his body.

“They were just everywhere. Spots on his face, on his legs, his back is covered,” his mother Stephanie told CBS Los Angeles.

The disease affects 1 in 500 000 people and comes with an increased risk of skin cancer – not to mention the social issues his parents feared would be faced with, which as a parent is unbearable to even think about.

Otherwise, the effects of the spots are purely cosmetic.

But Stephanie explained in 2016 that she lived with guilt every day because of her son’s spots.

“You know, you go through 10 months doing everything that you can do have a perfect pregnancy and be healthy, and then you think you did something wrong,” she said.

Stephanie realized that her baby was different and their lives would be affected because of it. But the family was seeking to raise awareness about their son’s rare disease.

When Kacy was born, doctors warned that his appearance would likely cause unwanted glances and comments.

“People are going to stare at him, kids may say some mean things (…) you may even find parents that don’t want their kids to be near him, because they don’t know what this is,” father Dan says.

The fear of seeing or hearing her son ridiculed or bullied has pushed Stephanie not to go out some days.

“I try not to go out, and I feel so guilty about it,” says Stephanie.

There are no easy solutions when you have a child that looks a little different and you have no control over people’s prejudices.

But the couple is now trying to transform people’s perceptions by creating more awareness about rare skin disorders – hoping in turn to promise their baby boy a better future.

We hope that spreading awareness about Kacy’s condition will help the public have a better understanding about his diisease and realize that he is a sweet baby just like any other.

Please share Kacy’s story to support the Dworksy’s mission to spread awareness about his disorder and make people realize there is nothing dangerous about it!
